Launched in May 2010, Nordicfestivals.com is a website dedicated to the largest music festivals in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland. We are covering the ones with international appeal, no matter what the musical genre is. Be it pop, rock, metal, electro, indie, blues or jazz and we try to send our writers there to tell you about it. As the amount of festivals would be too numeral, we do have some requirements to narrow the list down.
Now, from the above you might think that this website is alive only for six months of the year, but that's not exactly so. We report festival announcements months before the busy period and we have a message board running throughout the year. Our dedicated writers also cover some of the most interesting solo live shows during the more calm season. The written language on this website is English only, save for the message board that has a special section for Nordic languages.
You will find that not only do we report the festivals, we also present them in an informative way. You will know the easiest ways to travel to a given festival site, information on ticket prices and how to buy them, accommodation info, laws and specific rules of the particular country where you may be traveling to etc...
One of our main attractions are the album reviews which will be posted all year long. We concentrate on artists that play live shows in Northern Europe and we don't mind providing reviews from bands/artists that are less-known in mainstream scene. We will also be interviewing interesting musicians and make sure you take a look at our exclusive photo galleries as well.
All in all, our mission is to help consumers find events to celebrate the world of music and our goal is to be one of the most popular websites for festival-goers in Nordic region. Hope you enjoy it here!
We are always looking for exceptional people who share our love for music. If you reside in one of the five countries mentioned (or travel consistently around the area) and have decent writing skills in English, please contact our editor in chief here. If you wish to review albums, you don't need to be from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway or Iceland. We will launch the album section this Autumn. Our headquarter is located in Finland.
